Guest Speaker: Rev. Quinn Hashimoto
Reverend Quinn Hashimoto is the Vice Director of Shingon Mission of Hawaii.
A Kalani High School graduate, Rev. Hashimoto began helping the Shingon Mission 21 years ago. He has since obtained a degree in Psychology from University of Hawaii at West Oahu, and a master’s degree in Marriage and Family Counseling from Chaminade University.
Rev. Hashimoto is an instructor with the University of Hawaii's Early College Program, teaching psychology, and lectures at Department of Education high schools throughout Oahu. He also lectures at the University of Hawaii - West Oahu, and is an adjunct professor at Chaminade University, instructing in the field of psychology, specializing in lifespan studies and bereavement counseling.
Rev. Hashimoto received his ordination in 2009, his formal receiving of vows in 2015, as well as accepting the transmission of the Green Tara Meditations from the Dalai Lama in 2016. He assisted in leading pilgrims on the 88 Temples of Shikoku, as well as the Rakuyo 33 Kannon trail.
As a matter of interest, Rev. Hashimoto also received a certification from the Honolulu Community College Electrical Program and does many of the repairs at Shingon Mission of Hawaii himself!
In-Person Service Details
Attendance is limited to those 12 years and older who can verify their COVID vaccination status. Everyone will need to be masked and physically distanced if not from the same household.
Everyone attending is required to:
Present proof of their COVID vaccination status with a picture ID, and
Sign in on the COVID tracking sheet as they enter the temple.
