Today's Dharma Talk was given by Rev. David Nakamoto on the theme of perseverance. Rev. David recounted his recent trip to Hokkaido, the northern-most prefecture in Japan, where the people of Hokkaido have had to persevere to overcome the harsh climate of the region.

Halloween refreshments were enjoyed after the service. In case you're wondering, "brains" taste a lot like peach Jello, and the worms definitely aren't the same ones discussed in Matts Okamoto's gardening class.

Rededication Service

Today's Family Service at Kailua Hongwanji was also a Rededication Service. The Dharma Talk was given by Rev. Irene Nakamoto. She asked the congregation to discuss how how we are rededicating ourselves in embracing change and creating engagement, this year's Hongwanji theme.

Sunday Dharma Service
