Remembrance Day Service

Carolyn Uchiyama

Remembrance Dharma Service for Sunday, November 23, 2025 with a Dharma Talk by Carolyn Uchiyama, co-president of Wahiawa Hongwanji Mission. This Jodo Shinshu Buddhist service was officiated by Rev. Shingo Furusawa. Carolyn's Dharma Talk is titled "Ondobo - Ondogyo." Ondobo - Ondogyo is a Shin Buddhist phrase that means we are fellow travelers on the Buddhist path.

Carolyn also shares the story, "Addy's Cup of Sugar," a Stillwater tale by Jon J Muth based on a Buddhist story.

The monthly Remembrance Service is a time to honor family, friends, and even pets who passed away during the month of November, regardless of the year. This Jodo Shinshu Buddhist church service was recorded at Windward Buddhist Temple, a Shin Buddhist Temple in Kailua, Hawaii.
