Nakamoto previously served at Kailua Hongwanji (now Windward Buddhist Temple) from 2010 until his retirement in 2017. Rev. Brennan officiated the service.

Bodhi Day was on December 8 and commemorates Shakyamuni Buddha's attainment of Awakening under the Bodhi tree. Rev. Nakamoto shares the story of how Siddhartha Gautama attained enlightenment.
